“We do not learn from our experience. We learn from processing our experience.” - John Dewey “A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary.” - Thomas Caruthers “Education of knowledge should include knowledge of what to do with it.” - Anonymous “Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty.” - Albert Einstein |
STEM Education and Project Based LearningAs long time technology and math teachers, we at PBL Associates have been excited by the (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) STEM movement. Engineering is FUN...and engineers, technologists, mathematicians, and most scientists are PBL masters. Their lives are one project after another, sometimes many all at once! We support many of the traditional STEM curricula, and work with your teachers to embed the 21st Century Skills and Habits of Mind into their projects. Our principles are based on Critical Thinking, High Quality Work, and Shifting Accountability and Responsibility to your Students. They work, you supervise!
